These are uncertain times. With the economy on the fritz, schools downsizing and foreclosures on the rise, what is the answer? As Christians, we are committed to the truth that Christ holds the answer to this area’s problems and that the church is God’s vehicle for communicating that truth. Likewise, we know that the answer that is needed is not ultimately more money or more intelligence or even better schools, but a turning of our hearts to God. As the psalmist tells us, “Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” We need God! The people of Newaygo County and the surrounding area badly need the Lord, and we believe it is in times like this that the church has a great opportunity to point others to Jesus. That is why we are inviting all of the churches in Newaygo County and the surrounding area to join together for a week of prayer. Our second annual 7on7 prayer event is a chance to saturate our churches and this community with the prayer of God’s people, crying out to Him for help in this time. The goal of this special week of prayer (April 25-May 2) is to have all of the believers of our community united in prayer. Each day we will pray over a specific topic, lifting up the needs you may personally be aware of. We have created a prayer guide for each church and individual to use to lead in your personal or corporate times of prayer. Then, the final day, Sunday, May 2, everyone is invited to gather at the Grant Middle School for a time of united praise and prayer as the community of God lifting the needs of our county before Him. This webpage has all the handouts/info you will need to promote the 7on7 prayer event (e.g., adult/children prayer guides, Sunday morning promo, etc.). You can download all the information online at www.victoryfellowshipchurch.org/7on7. We have also included some ideas that might help you creatively use this week to spur your own congregation on to prayer. We encourage you to do whatever you feel God leading you to do to creatively involve your people during and leading up to this week of prayer. Last year’s experience was powerful! And we believe this year’s experience will be even greater. We are pleased that we will be able to offer a children’s area this year that will include teaching, prayer and lots of fun. Please, plan to be part of this time of calling upon God to bless, protect and restore our county! The Grant Ministerial Association
